Hello builders, leaders, and team-mates of Oregon’s community food systems,
My name is Nicolia and I’ll be here for the next 10 months, helping the network define its purpose and develop a useful structure. The skills I bring to the table include systems thinking, conflict resolution, mediation, facilitation, and strategic development. I also studied agricultural science, managed a CSA, and worked in a radically innovative local food business. And, I’m a specialist in nutritionally-dense cooking, personality typology, and partner dancing.
I’m not a behind the desk kind of person, so expect to see me in your communities soon. For me, the key to successful collaboration is relationships, and it’s tough to build those via email. I encourage you to reach out to me, and to each other, whenever possible, for whatever reason.
My purpose with OCFSN this year is to support network development. Sometimes that will look like facilitating meetings, helping you brainstorm, or nudging you about project goals. Other times it might look like bringing in cross-sector organizations or including organizations that bring new perspectives. I’ll organize the 2018 convening and continually ask questions about how the network is developing, and why.
I’m excited to get to know you and this beautiful state. Here’s to aligning our efforts and working together.
