FAQ

  • What does OCFSN do?

OCFSN provides opportunities for Oregon organizations working on different aspects of food system transformation to collaborate more effectively with each other. The more connected and organized we are, within our network, the more effectively we can learn from, inform, and collaborate with other sectors (e.g. public health, immigration, housing, environment).

  • Who can join OCFSN?

Public Interest Organizations or Business Affiliates. Read more on the Get Involved page.

  • How do I keep up to date on what the Network is doing?

Sign up for our monthly newsletter! The link to sign up is at the bottom of our website.

Join a Google Group, learn more about each of the Groups and general guidelines for using the email lists.

  • How do I get in touch with the network?

Send us an email! We try to respond within 2-4 business days.

  • When is the 2022 Convening?

We hosted a Virtual Spring Mini-Convening on April 6. Our larger Fall Convening typically takes place in November. It has not been planned yet. Keep an eye out for announcements here or in our newsletter.

  • Do I have to be an OCFSN member in order to participate in a working group?

Non-OCFSN members can participate in working groups. However, we’d love to hear why you aren’t a member or how we can remove barriers to you joining the network!

  • How long has OCFSN been around?

The network was formalized in 2016 and received 501(c)(3) status in June 2022.

We are so glad you asked! Nominations and applications typically open in October each year and voting occurs before the end of the year. New leadership team members are onboarded in January of the new year. Learn more on our Join our Leadership Team page. You can also read more in our bylaws.
